"What I liked most about the resort was that it was smaller so everything was so accessible. The food was fantastic especially at the a la carte restaurants as well as the pool side restaurant. The beach was incredible. The one thing that I wasn't a fan of was the diamond members being able to reserve pool side chairs and umbrellas and sometimes not showing up until noon or not showing up at all. Also, the only thing that was missing at the breakfast buffet was a toaster. Ither than that, everything was great. I would definitely return in a heartbeat. Also, the palace resorts app made any request so easy and staff were very prompt."

"The Riu's strongest asset is their hospitality.....from receptions down to the service staff. We had two issues in our room that needed service and within 20min of notifying reception, we had service. While at the pool, I accidentally hit the Emergency alert on my watch which alerted my contacts. They notified the reception desk and the staff there promptly began a search for me. I would like to thank the staff for their prompt response to this. We appreciated Frank's prompt & friendly service at Chili's lunch every day. He is a hard worker!! We also give special kudos to Luis at the pool who went over & above to make sure we had a chair for my handicapped sister during our stay. I was disappointed in the Menu for Don Rafael, specifically Thursdays. In our past visits it was "Lobster night" Although Lobster was listed on the menu.....there was no Lobster!! When we asked, we were directed to a "sea food mix" that had lobster.....not what we expected. The menu should reflect what is actually being served. All in all, I enjoyed my stay at Palace Riviera Maya"

"This is not a five star resort, but a five star value. We have stayed at Iberostar properties more than 10 times and they never disappoint. Very good food,.good drinks, great service, friendly atmosphere and at this property an amazing landscape. Plus the best beach anywhere. We will return. One caveat. BD Experience, our shutt service from the airport to the resort had no record of our reservation. Staff claimed this was a recurring issue with Expedia. We waited 45 minutes for them to sort this. Not tragic, but a nuisance. "

"This is my third time visiting the property and it lived up to my previous wonderful experiences. The staff are truly amazing and seem to genuinely want their guests to have a lovely time. I had a very bad back during my stay - I tried to postpone my trip but sadly this was not possible. However, the staff and nomadics did their best to ensure I could join in as much as possible, providing a chair for the sessions and adapting so that I could join in. Charlie and his team also went out of their way to make sure that I felt comfortable eating as I am vegan and gluten free - constantly checking in and confirming what I could eat. Overall I had a wonderful stay at this truly special place. I will be back!"
