"For the price this space was a good option. The finishes are nice and the bed is firm, which my husband liked but it was a bit too firm for me. We enjoyed having breakfast across the street at a mom and pop cafe called La Guajira. They had fresh juice and generous portions. There are three off-street parking spaces for the condo complex but they weren't always available. You have to be sure to pay for street parking at the pay booths or they will put a boot on your car. "Beautiful property and loved the staff. This little place sits right on 5th Ave so everything is at your disposal. Only downside is, no parking in this pedestrian area (we left our car around the corner) & sometimes depending on the room you get, you can hear the outside fiestas (although this didn’t keep me from sleeping lol) I would go back!! "neat, great location. A welcome bottle of wine was a nice touch. We only stayed in the hotel for rest at night, so don't know and can't say much about the facility. The taxi front desk arranged for us was not big as promised. Four of us end up squeezed in the back seat, as we were rushing to the airport. Other than that, was a nice stay. "

"This is the 2nd time staying at Los Itzaes. Hotel is very well situated to food & shopping! It is noisier that we remembered from our previous stay. No hot water in shower, but there were a lot of footsteps we heard before trying it. Maybe others used up the hot water. No big deal. The staff has been terrific and friendly."

"Excellent location, right in the action, a block to 5th ave and tons of restaurants and bars. Only a few rooms in the hotel have been renovated to look like the pictures, mine was not, looked like it was renovated in 1970, but it was clean, no mold, no bugs. Bed was firm but comfortable, smart tv and good A/C. Big issue for me was no mini fridge. Ivan the manager was awesome, very helpful and kind. Hyatt Centric Playa del Carmen - Downtown House & Beach House

"Hyatt recently rebranded this property in December of 2024, so those returning to PDC might remember this as the Thompson. If you reserve the downtown location, it is literally in the middle of everything. The beach house is about 2 blocks away. Regardless of which property you reserve, you have access to both. The beach house is right on the beach. Both locations have pools and restaurants. The downtown location is adults only. The pool at the downtown location is stunning. It's an infinity pool that runs the length of the hotel, has a swim-up bar, and plenty of loungers/seating and cabana type rooms. The pool at the beach house is smaller, but also has loungers and cabanas. The staff at both locations are simply amazing and attentive. If you look closely, the downtown location does need a little maintenance and upkeep, but that is likely on its way with the rebranding. Regardless, I had not known about this property before and I will definitely be back. It's the best of both worlds being able to get a downtown vibe and beach house all at the same time. "

Waking up in paradise

"This was a beautiful and spacious property. It was a very short walk to the white sandy beach. The second floor balcony outside the master bedroom was my favorite place. It was shady and windy and a great place to enjoy a glass of wine. I also loved that we could hear the waves from our bed. The neighborhood is close to lots of shops and restaurants, but it’s about half a mile until you get out of the neighborhood. The host helped us set up an amazing excursion. Security in the neighborhood was great and friendly. We felt very safe. I only wish the property had a few more supplies because we like to cook a lot and I felt like some basics were missing. I also wish the host had a welcome/recommendations book. There are so many restaurants and shops, it would be nice to know which ones are great and who delivers food to neighborhood. Uber eats did work. "
