"Love this property and I've stayed here multiple times per year since 2018. I had an unfortunate experience this last trip, with the front desk guy, who basically harassed me by text message after I departed, because I didn't tip him for holding my cell phone at the front desk when I left it in the room after check out. He was new(er) to the team and I don't know what staffing changes they have had there...but that left a very sour taste in my mouth and I don't know if I will ever return to...

"The good: - great location, right next to the Quinta Avenida (main pedestrian street) - room and beds were basic but nice enough - air conditioning, wi-fi, cleaning service - inexpensive The not-so-good: - The front desk is not 24-hour, contrary to what is claimed on Expedia. Office hours are from 7 AM to 9 PM. That is according to the sign on the door. But even that is not respected, because when I arrived to check in at 7 PM, no one was there. The door gives a phone number for outside...

"We arrived and were informed with zero notice that the condo has maintenance issues (no explanation of what exactly the problem was) and they would be placing us in another sister unit 30 blocks north Plaza Paraiso. Was told it would only be for a night or 2, then 4-5 days, then our whole 10 day trip. Very unhappy with sister property. Very unhappy with property severe lack of communication. Went by the property and others staying there - feel confident overbooked and just put us wherever...

"Best beach so far on Mexico east coast. Beautiful nature surrounding cozy haciendas. Friendly animals could be seen on different sites. Lots of family activities."

"This was our 3rd time staying at Sandos Playa Del Carmen. We like the property, beach is wonderful. Staff is friendly. Has lots of pool options and eating places but was harder to get in restaurants this time. All in all beautiful big property with lots of choices. And its very walkable if your at all fit somewhat.
