"We overall liked our experience at El Cid. It was great having 3 resorts to walk to and eat at. It didn't seem crowded at all. Staff was great. Downside was our room at the marina smelled very musty. They changed our room and was a little better but still musty. Our friends had an air conditioner that wasn't working so they ended up at one of the other resorts that was newer and didn't have the musty smell. "First time at this resort. We thought everything was clean and well kept. We are pretty spontaneous and don't like to plan so having to make reservations a day or more in advance for most restaurants was very annoying to us. Food was good but didn't take my breath away. They don't really allow food outside by pools or at beach, we think to keep birds away. After you get used to it, it's not a big deal. Hardly any birds around, so it does work.
