Not a fun hotel for couples. Very small and bar closes at 11:30pm. Also construction going on right beside hotel. We never went to pool anymore due to noise from construction. Also the rooms... the rooms have ZERO noise cancellation. You can hear EVERYTHING that goes on in corridors and neighbor rooms. Don't understand how this hotel has returning customers.

This is our second time visiting. We love the smaller style resort. The staff are super friendly and helpful. Food is good. There is some construction happening next door but it didn’t take away from our lovely experience.

The hotel was nice and clean. I was there with my family. The hotel staff were not nice or accommodating. The food was mediocre at best, did not seem fresh, choices were limited. The drinks tasted artificial. I got lemonade for the kids and they said it was nasty and did not drink it. I got the kids virgin strawberry daiquiris, and the color was like beets, and it tasted bad also, so they didn’t like it. Even the orange juice didn’t taste good and didn’t even look orange, it looked like lemonade, weird. The alcoholic drinks were bad aswell. They only have 2 restaurants outside of the regular buffet and one of them was closed 3 out the 5 days we were there. You have to make reservation to go to the restaurants and they get filled up quickly. Some of my family members got sick from the food, thank goodness we travel with meds. On multiple occasions I went to front desk to ask questions about dinning and activities and they would just say they don’t know. They had garbage cans next to the room, the one by my room smelled bad. The Year’s Eve celebration was good. We went to the Cancun Hotel Zone and had some good food and drinks. My family and i will not return to this hotel.

The noise was the main issue of this hotel. You honestly could hear people walking and breathing in the other room. You could hear everything, especially at night, when someone is walking in the lobby or going to the washroom. It was very hard to fall asleep and we got very unfortunate as we had a noisy neighbor. However, they quickly changed our room and it became a bit better. Ok hotel but probably avoid it if you are looking for a quite place.

The property is very clean and the staff is constantly working to make sure that everything is cleaned, safe, and visually pleasing. The only negative was the construction next door which is responsible for excess noise at times. The structure itself is now blocking some of the ocean views for hotel guests and definitely blocks a great deal of sun exposure around the main pool areas. In spite of all of that, we had a great time and enjoyed our time the resort.

Not Recommended for Families with Kids We recently stayed at this hotel, but unfortunately, it fell short of our expectations as a family-friendly destination. 1)Ongoing Renovations: There was active renovation work during our stay, which affected the overall experience. 2) The kids' pool was very dirty, and the larger pool wasn’t clean either. The fountain in the pool had paint residue from the ongoing work, and there was a strong smell of paint in the area. Beach Conditions: While the sea was beautiful to look at, it wasn’t suitable for swimming with kids. High tides and red flags were a constant issue, making the ocean inaccessible for safe swimming. Food Quality: On several occasions, we found the food not to be fresh, which was disappointing. Good point- staff in kids' room, some people in main restaurant were friendly and helpful.

The doors, door handles were never clean. The buffet was awful, everytime we went there they had sub par food. We couldnt make reservations that were required for the restaurants. Bed was uncomfortable/hard. Check in took really long, the person helping us had offensive tattoos, and never explained the layout, activities or restaurants of the property.

I loved the staff . They were super amazing. Very thankful I didn’t like : Moldy smell in the rooms. Too cold / ac was not fixed, we slept with long sleeves. Room service took too long - 50 minutes - 60 minutes Fan in the washroom was too loud , gave you a headache. Rooms were too close you can hear every conversation the family next door is having. Services for cleaning started at 7 AM. We could never get a good sleep. The super loud cleaning staff woke us up at exactly 7 AM daily . They were pushing/ pulling furniture and cracking bottles and yelling / laughing really loud . There were not even 1 umbrella for the beach, zero. There weren’t enough beds at the beach. We used towels certain days .

I was disappointed with our stay at GR Solaris. We looked at various hotels on Expedia and decided on GR Solaris because it looked like an ideal resort for us. We were traveling with our 7yr old son and their kids club/pool area was appealing to us. Upon arrival we were asked to attend their "Club" presentation and they'd give us free massages in return which was nice. The presentation was supposed to be 90 mins which ended up being 2.5 hrs and we had 3 people attempt to close us on the deal which felt really pushy. We had not even had the chance to experience the resort for more than 24 hours to determine if we even wanted to purchase their "club" membership. At the resort they reuse plastic cups for their drinks which is fine, but my husband received a cup with residual red lipstick on the rim which shows that they don't really wash their cups well. Needless to say, we were really grossed out. The room was decent, but the AC unit kept short circuiting and turning off throughout the day, so the room would get hot. We also placed our "do not disturb" sign on the door, but they still knocked on our door and woke us up and then slid the sign underneath our door. We are really confused as to why they did that. Also, they building another resort next door so it was noisy during the day and you couldn't really enjoy peace and quiet by the pool or the beach. The buffet was good and they offered a good variety of food. The other 2 restaurants were just ok. Staff were really nice.
