Everything was fine until I went to check out. I had paid Expedia $1700 for the resort. That was to be my total charge. When I checked out, I was charged an additional $79 a day for Enviromental Impact. This was an amount I was not prepared to pay. It would have been really nice if someone had advised me of this charge before I booked the stay.

RUN AWAY!! this place is awful. Construction inside the hotel, huge construction that is noisy right next to the hotel pool, unsafe conditions with exposed rebar on balconies, huge holes in the walls and ceilings. The food is inedible and tastes like a bad retirement home cafeteria. Hotel lets companies come in and sell to you at the pool (coco bongo, etc). Complete lack of pool chairs means that people reserve them at 8 am and the dont use them most of the day but the resort does nothing to fix the situation. Management refused to let us out of our remaining days to go somewhere else. Expedia was little help. DO NOT BOOK this place you will absolutely regret it. Only positive was the employees were generally nice.

This is my 2nd time staying at this resort. There’s only a few restaurant options but we came back because the workers here are the best. From the servers ti the bartenders and the cleaning staff. Everyone is super nice, friendly and helpful.

It’s a smaller resort which means less crowds! It still had all of the feels of an all inclusive resort-multiple pools, bars, places to eat, and entertainment. The spa service was great!

Overall I enjoyed my stay at the GR Solaris. The staff were nice. The facilities were clean. The night shows were entertaining - you can tell they love what they do! I really enjoyed the 4-6pm coffee bar - delicioso! The deli was another life saver is if you like/need your daily dose of caffeine. One star off because the food was okay. I ate at the café most of the time because it was hard to get a reservation at the Marco Polo. Unfortunately the one time I did dine at the MP I ended up sick (my friend was fine...so it was just my food selection). Overall, if the price is alright I would stay at the GR Solaris again.

Staff are very friendly, and accommodating. Tons of choices of food from breakfast to dinner. Different nightly shows and really entertaining. Clean area from rooms down to the pools. The staff are amazing! Can’t say more about how wonderful everyone is. The food is ok, but the lack of Mexican based food in the buffet for lunch and dinner was surprising. The lunch on the pool deck was also great! The sushi day, tacos etc all wonderful. The adjoining room doors let in a lot of noise. Awkward if the people beside you are having a great night lol. The upgrades the hotel is doing are also so handy! The water dispensers are great. Air con in rooms isn’t as strong as you’d expect. But might have been our room. Thank you to the staff for an amazing vacation. You are ALL wonderful.
