We stayed Jan 11-18, 2025. This was our first time at Grand Fiesta Coral Beach. Previously we stayed at Hyatt Ziva in 2022 and 2024. The good about Grand Fiesta Coral Beach was the dining options/restaurants and the upgraded Infinite floor 11 drinks and food offerings. The beach was also nice and did not feel crowded. Overall we had a nice time, but would not go back. The hotel is old and showing its age. But the most important reason we would not go back was the staff. Unfriendly, unwelcoming a 180 degree difference from the amazing people at Hyatt Ziva. We actually walked over to Ziva (the properties are next door) and 4 or 5 Ziva team members recognized us, hugged us and asked if we were staying at Ziva. We told them we wanted to try something new but we would be back to see our friends at Ziva next time. My family and I have stayed at 5 or 6 resorts in Cancun, I feel we have a pretty good idea of options. If Grand Fiesta Coral Beach updated the resort a bit, but more importantly, put any kind of focus/importance on customer service, it would be a top contender. The food is good and the beach is great, but the employees are unhelpful, unfriendly and often times act as though you are inconveniencing them. I hate to write that, as there were a couple customer service bright spots, but overwhelmingly, there seems to be an unhappiness among the staff and it translates to their customer relations with guests.

This review is for stay July 2024. My family and I celebrated my birthday and wedding anniversary. The resort was clean and I loved the way they went above and beyond with cleanliness in the room including turn down service. It is also family friendly. The only issue is the time share seeking services we ended up paying for what they offered us as free. Overall it was a great experience for our first time in Mexico. Great room service as well. Just a note even though it is all inclusive if you are interested in booking here make sure you make your dining reservations or figure out food options.

Food and Staff were exceptional and attentive. Staff were great at accommodating any food allergies or food restrictions. Hotel was clean and housekeeping staff came routinely through out the day to ensure the room was tidy and the mini bar was stocked. I wish there was a bathtub in our room. We booked ocean view with 2 queens and there was only a standing shower. The water did not get hot and only was warm. It was difficult getting reservations for some restaurants. It was my daughter’s birthday when we landed and we were told that there are 0 reservations available that day and we had to beg them to let us have one for the special occasion. The staff were kind and accommodated to us, but I wish it was easier and simpler to get reservations. I also wish there was more entertainment and shows during the night.

It’s been our 5th vacation in cancun. 4 times before we have stayed in different RIU hotels both in Cancun and Playa del Carmen so my review will be also a comparison between these 2. Grand Fiesta Americana was a very nice hotel with a touch of luxury. It was very clean and well maintained. Pros: cleanliness, housekeeping, hotel area and entertainment. I was impressed with how good the housekeeping was in this hotel. I don’t remember I have experienced anything close to it in past several years! Room was cleaned very well, everything refilled and towels changed. Just perfect! Cons. Compared to RIU hotels the food and overall service was lacking to me. We go once a year to Cancun and choose an all inclusive option as we travel with kids and we want to never worry about what we feed them. There was a huge line of people waiting to be seated every morning. The restaurant felt very small for such a huge hotel. It felt like a fancy place, but the food choices were very very limited compared to our previous experiences. No vegetables, limited fruit, no desert. Huge lines to get omlet and no other options for people who live egg but don’t want to stand that huge line to get an omlet. There was no official lunch restaurant and we had to order in one of bars. The choice of food to order was limited to tacos, pizza, sandwiches and ceviche drinks. Our kids ate the same junk food for 7 days. Dinners were all very limited too. There was an issue with asking high chair and getting it.

Excellent stay - we loved it, hotel was clean and welcoming, with an excellent variety of dinner options. There was plenty of choices for midday snacks around the pool area as well. The beach is outstanding and staff is very eager to help. They should improve on a couple points though. What we didn't like is that breakfast is very limited overall, and very limited for people not eating pork.The hotel advertises beach volleyball and snorkeling equipment for use. Beach volleyball was advertised on daily activities as well, but was never set up during our stay, so I highly doubt they have it at all as whenever I asked about it, I was told it was taking place in the pool. Snorkeling gear was only available if you would book a snorkeling trip. That was not advertised as that too. Also, if there are pool tables, they should be level, and there should be chalk for cues.

Took my two adult children . We had a great time ! Excellent floor shows. We enjoyed to foods available. Staff very friendly and accommodating. We did not have problems finding places on the beach or near the pool with chairs and/ or sun protection. We noticed that this resort is very much geared towards families with small children, and large family groups . Would not recommend this for a romantic vacation ! We felt very safe staying on the resort. I noticed there were what I suspect to be plainclothes security around the hotel. For transport to and from the airport, just take a taxi which is about $35. No advantage in taking a private car. After going through customs, I would avoid the long series of vendors looking for time share customers . Great vacation!
