"We arrived very early (noonish) from the airport and were expecting to wait for our room. They quickly checked us in and we were in our room within 10 minutes of arriving. Everyone was very nice and helpful. The grounds are beautiful and interesting to walk through. Great history of the hotel. Found everything to be immaculate. Close to Petco park which is why we were there. We found a great little place for breakfast (Cafe 222) just a few short blocks away and a Ralph’s a couple blocks...

"Great choice to stay before a cruise. Light rail from airport stops at Westlake station next to the hotel. Easy 10 minute walk to the cruise port. "

"Rooms are nice, clean and comfortable. Main bar Redwood Room closed on Sunday and Monday, so never experienced it and chose this hotel for that amenity. Shame it was closed. Had to change rooms as rooms ending in “31” share a wall with service elevator which is very noisy all night long. It hums and clanks. No sleep first night. Moved away from service elevator and that was far better. Lobby is quiet and lifeless lacking fun energy. Dull captures it. Overall the hotel is nice but needs some...

"This was the 3rd time staying at this hotel and it didnt disappoint. Staff is great, rooms are clean, beds are comfortable, food is great! Major plus is the shuttles going to and from the parks. Great drivers. "

"Uncomfortable walking past some homeless people in the surrounding streets. Hotel main entrance is locked and requires card access after 8 pm as a safety measure. But location is close to downtown and a manned city parkade is just opposite and free parking on Sunday’s and holidays. The fridge and the expression machine are noisy. "

"The Sofia was wonderful to stay at. Rooms were small but the quality of amenities in them made you overlook the size of the room. Loved that it had a microwave. Easy parking. Walking distance to many city locations. Highly recommend."
