"Room (corner suite) excellent & very comfortable, but shower leaked. Dinner very good. Breakfast not so good. Scrambled eggs bland, lumpy & tasteless. Breakfast promised avocado, but what came was a very acidic guacamole. Several breakfast items not available. On the Saturday morning, service was slow, both coffee machines malfunctioning."

"Unique in that the hotel is in a former prison and you see this all around the hotel. Superb hotel, never stayed in a Malmaison before and definitely will again. Staff go above & beyond just excellent & cannot fault it."

"Lovely staff, especially the Irish waitress in the mornings (didn’t catch her name) great location. Decor is wonderful. One criticism would be that the safe in the rooms are too low, when you are of a certain age it becomes a bit of a problem having to get on all fours to use it"
