I don't recall on the Hotel's description here on Expedia or on their own website that the deposit was $400 up front. I stayed for 6 days so that should have been around $170. "First off, it is a classic SF icon of a hotel. (And the Fairmont across the street has rooms like the Mark since both hotels are 'seniors' yet classic beautiful public areas). The IHG group purchased it in 1973 and even during the late 90s it was still well maintained and didn't show its age). However now, it is showing its age! The rooms are meh since they are clearly aging (and NOT in a super classic way) and are very dated. The place needs a renov! Would I stay there again? Probably not. But...
