"The Courtyard Marriott on Van Ness is a wonderful hotel. The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere has a charming, art-inspired boutique feel. The rooms are comfortable and well-designed, with bathrooms that feature beautiful tile work and glass shower doors. While the surrounding area does have some homeless individuals, I never felt unsafe or uncomfortable. This is mainly an issue at night, but using Uber or other rideshares makes it easy to avoid any concerns."

"It was a good for a quick overnight stop near SFO, although further than it seemed on the map, about 15 minute cab ride, $36! The elevator was broken, had been for a couple of days. It was rather inconvenient with all our baggage to get to the 2nd floor. The night clerk was wonderful in helping us drag the bags up. The room was a good size and the bed comfy, just as we hoped for. (We took Uber back to SFO the following am, $21.)"

"The place is renovated maybe five years ago but it’s very nice and very comforting place. Feels like home. A good place to stay. Will definitely return. Front desk is friendly, so as housekeeping. I forgot our toothpaste but unfortunately they didn’t have any, it’s ok. "

"The hotel was okay. Not great, but far from the worst place I’ve ever stayed. Front desk folks were friendly, night and day. Room was comfortable but nothing earthshaking. If I’m looking for weaknesses, the free breakfast was…well, you get what you pay for. Minimal selections, breads/bagels were all starting to go stale. They did offer a good selection of teas, so that was positive. The dining room was the food servery…very limited bench seating facing walls or windows."
