"This was our 2nd stay at an excellence resort. We stayed at Riviera Cancun prior. They look and feel almost the same. The big difference was seating and staffing. Multiple times we had to wait to be seated for food because the place was full or there wasn't enough to staff to open other restaurants. One day only 1 sit down restaurant was open for lunch. Service was hit or miss once you were seated. Going to the beach was difficult, we never did find an open place to lounge under the trees....

"The property is beautiful and clean!! Our room was spacious and also very clean. However, the design of the vanity in the restroom was a bit user unfriendly. Beside the fresh fruit, the rest of the food was mediocre. In my humble opinion, even the food in the nicer restaurants (seafood, Italian, Hibachi, etc.) was not very authentic or delicious. The drinks are also watered down- I suggest you taste your cocktail first. If you don't get easily frightened of leaving the resort, please do so....

"You can’t go wrong… My teenage daughter and I went from Christmas’s Day to New Year’s Day. The resort was impeccable. Although we were there 7 nights, we only spent two days at the resort’s pools and beach. The other days, we went to Isla Mejeres (sp?) on the ferry that’s next to the hotel, Xel Ha (amazing!) , Horseback/ATV/Zipline/Cenote, downtown Cancun, and snorkeling. "Dreams was really nice! My room was nice. Loved the Bluetooth option in the bathroom and the shower. I only wished that they offered robes in the room. For the cost per night, I think that a robe would have given the added touch!"
