"The hotel is a bit old. It's great if you're looking to stay in a property with a historical aspect. Check-in was troubling. I don't recall on the Hotel's description here on Expedia or on their own website that the deposit was $400 up front. I stayed for 6 days so that should have been around $170. "This is a cute older building with nicely decorated "antique" rooms. It's basically a "bed and breakfast" type hotel, minus the breakfast area. The rooms are small, with just maybe a small chair and a sink in the room. But here are a lot of shower and toilet areas, a cluster of two showers and two toilets for every group of rooms, on several floors. Everything is nicely done, with privacy and convenience in mind. "Overall a great stay close to Union Square. They were very busy during the holiday so I think a few cleanliness things got missed. Our floors looked like they hadn’t been swept/vaccumed/mopped. Found a random wrapper as well. Other than that the staff was really friendly."

"Lovely old, gracious hotel. Nice big rooms, professional and helpful staff. At the top of Nob Hill so a good cardio to get around but I would definitely return and recommend to friends."
