"The hotel itself was fairly clean. The heat didn't work all the time. Other than the check in didn't really see hotel staff until we checked out. The hotel was quiet. I did like that there was a refrigerator and microwave. The refrigerator was iced over but it was still working. The microwave was not working properly we finally got it to work. "We LOVE staying at The Hungry Trout! We ski Whiteface at least once a year, and sometimes go up for hiking in warmer months. This is the only place we like to stay. It's very cozy, clean, comfortable beds, and convenient to the mountain. Getting into Lake Placid is easy, too. Can't say enough good things about it.
