"We got an upstairs unit with mini-kitchen and fridge. It was nice to be above the bottom floor pool level since the lower floor rooms' patio opens right up to the pool area. Hotel is conveniently located. All the tour group buses pickup/dropoff conveniently from this hotel. Unfortunately, the front gate to the driveway is always closed so you have to manually push the large gate open/close every time you come in out of the property. Hard to do if you are elderly in age. "

"Seven family members stayed at the RIU Palace Guanacaste. Three of us had birthdays and the rooms were updated and decorated. We had a Junior suite that was had alcohol dispensers, a fridge with drinks, a mini jacuzzi and king bed with a lovely veranda overlooking the pool and partial view of the ocean. Overall the room was clean and well kept. The resort is absolutely beautiful and the view was amazing. The shows were great, top shelf liquor and multiple restaurants. We enjoyed the Italian...

"Overall nice property. Staff were friendly and helpful. Grounds were well kept. This is a hilly property, but they offer a very responsive shuttle service. Our room in bldg 14 offered a phenomenal view of the bay. We stayed at this resort about seven years ago. Not much has changed and some of the areas of the property are worn. That said all employees try hard to ensure a memorable stay. We would consider returning in the future. "

"The only option available for us was a family style room. It was spacious in that there were two queen beds and a sitting area. Our patio was completely secluded due to the trees in front. The property itself is so beautifully landscaped. Your stress will melt away! The staff is friendly and accomodating. I asked for an iron and one was delivered promptly, though they weren't sure if there were any. It was away from the town area and anything you do away from there will cost a grip to get to....

"Right on the beach, quiet elegance but casual atmosphere. Pools everywhere if you don’t want the beach. Excellently run resort, highly competent and friendly staff."
