"I love boutique hotels and Leyenda is no exception. The grounds are quite beautiful. They greeted us with a welcome drink! We stayed for 3 nights total, family of 5. We had the superior 2 bedroom and the room was good but we did add an extra room after our first night for more space and another bathroom (my fault for thinking the 3 beds/1 bath would be sufficient with two teens). We enjoyed the big pool! Wished it was a bit cooler to be a refresh from the heat, or that a part of the pool had some shade (never thought I’d say that!) We ate 3 dinners here and each dinner was AMAZING! I can not recommend their dinners enough. Warning: the portions are HUGE and very shareable. Unfortunately, the complimentary breakfast buffet was not as good as their dinner. However, the made to order cappuccinos were lovely. We took the shuttle to the beach one day and I highly recommend Playa Carillo as it was the best beach we visited in Costa Rica. Just stunning! The next day we drove our rental car to the beach and back. Overall, I would return here again. For the price, the location and amenities are a great deal. PS. The Asiatic restaurant is not open, which we were looking forward to. Luckily that main restaurant had a large variety and incredible food."

"This was outdoor living. The property was gorgeous. The breakfast they made it the morning was yummy and i didn't have to figure it out. The sunsets were the best while listening to the ocean. 2 things to be aware of... the oven does not work and there is no air conditioning. Just check before you buy groceries if they have changed out the ovenAs for the air condition, there was a lot of air flow so wasn't really needed. "

"Excellent and relaxing. If you like an authentic, quiet and quaint secluded beach resort vacation in Costa Rica, feeling as if you owned a piece of Costa Rica all to your self, this resort would not disappoint you. Very close to the town to where you can walk thru the beach which takes only 15 mins. There is an excursion desk that helps organize daily activities for staying guests. We took the 3 hours horse ride and a separate coffee tour on alternative days during our stay, which are very enjoyable. The food and service at the resort are also nice. "

"This was the perfect location for our family reunion. Both the main house and guest house were lovely, comfortable, spacious, and well appointed. The pool and backyard setting was simply paradise. The location was ideal. We enjoyed our walks to the local restaurants. Playa Carrillo was just a five minute drive and the beach was kid friendly. Jackie, our host was very knowledgeable about the area, and answered all of our questions promptly. She was super accommodating. Myrtha the housekeeper was most amazing.We look forward to returning here on our next visit to Puerto Carrillo. "
