"Amazing old historic hotel, worth the money but not for kids"

"I recently stayed at La Pensione Hotel for a solo trip and couldn’t have been more pleased. It’s a small boutique hotel with a lot of character—clean, cozy, and full of charm. The location is unbeatable, right in the heart of Little Italy, with great restaurants, coffee shops, and public transit just steps away. The room was compact but, perfect for a couple of nights. The price was very reasonable for the area, especially considering how central it is. It felt like a hidden gem—comfortable, welcoming, and a great value. I’d absolutely stay here again."

"The property was very clean and safe. I received two $35 vouchers for food in their cafe, which essentially zeroed out the daily fees. I also received two wine vouchers. Such a great value. My room was beautiful and I will definitely look at booking here again in the future. "

"Convenient location to the convention center and the stadium as well as the Gaslamp district. Beautiful views. There’s a shuttle from the hotel to Coronado beach. Room itself is a bit outdated, no toiletries including hand soap were in my room. "
