They charge way more than it says on booking and they aren’t very transparent about it. A lot of fees for literally everything. Not to mention you can’t even put stuff in the fridge because they pack the fridge full of stuff that you can buy. I don’t know how much more greedier it can get than that. Also they need to be more on point with having the front desk staff in the front (which is their job) We asked earlier in the day if we would be assisted with no problem as we had an early morning flight. One of the front desk staff told us that someone would be able to assist as the hotel is “24/7” As we were checking out it took us almost 10 minutes to get a hold of a Front Desk Receptionist which isn’t very long but it’s very concerning when you have a early morning flight.

We liked the location for the hotel. It seemed like each room was just worn down. Dents in walls. Wall paper peeling, cracks in tile floors, rips and worn out material for couches and stools. Our first night we were setup with a room with balcony and nextdoor to the ice machine.. I had to beg three times for a room upgrade then we were moved to tenth floor. Nicer room but now no balcony (which was what we wanted) room service was great. Nobu was great. Room/ comfort not so great. Also staff charged me a full half night rate to extend late checkout by one hour so we didn’t stand at airport 5 hours. Also we did vip package. Balloons were were deflating and flowers died day one. Chocolate strawberries were good. Overall I don’t think the stay was near worth the price.

Unfortunately, my experience at Hard Rock Hotel was tarnished by a disappointing incident. After leaving my coat, scarf, and gloves in the room post-checkout, I returned to the hotel after driving 2 hours to collect them. While the coat was returned, my scarf and gloves were nowhere to be found. Despite my certainty that I had left them behind, the housekeeping team claimed they were not there, which left me feeling disappointed. That said, apart from this issue, the rest of my stay was fantastic. The hotel front staff were friendly and attentive, the room was clean, spacious, and the location couldn’t have been more convenient—close to all the major attractions and easy to navigate. My husband and I truly enjoyed our time at the hotel as the hotel offers excellent service in most areas, but incidents like this make it difficult to fully trust the staff. Guests should feel assured that if items are left behind, they will be returned rather than lost or unaccounted for. It’s something I hope the management will address to maintain the trust and satisfaction of their guests.

Very cool hotel and the rooms are laid out in a unique, but great plan. Mini bar was large. Room coffee was kinda crap and only Starbucks available on property. The pool area was exceptional, and although it was late December, so we didn't use it, it's definitely something that would be a draw in the right seasons.

Pros: Great location (Gaslamp district). Great sized rooms. Staff helpful and friendly. Lots of great restaurants/bars attached as well as onsite Starbucks. Lots of cool Rock memorabilia, valet parking convenient. Cons: beds not very supportive/comfortable. Glass doors on separate bathroom and shower (more so for the shower), shower had no handheld shower head for rinsing off, water went everywhere, because of glass from toilet area to the bed area… if someone was using the toilet area while someone was sleeping in the bed area… the light was irritating.
