"Leo was a great host at Fern Forest. It is a beautiful property, very quiet and kind of out off the beaten path. The house itself is beautiful with 3 to 4 room with their own restrooms and refrigerators. The communal living space is awesome if you get lucky, you may be the only one staying there and will have the run of the entire house I will definitely stay again! "

Our otherwise excellent stay was disturbed by rude guests upstairs talking loudly, smoking outside our window and stomping around when we were trying to sleep. I would recommend this unit if you are looking for a nice, two bedroom place to stay in Hilo."

One was that in the bedrooms it did get quite warm, the ac unit is in the living room area and it definitely pushes air out and keeps that area super cold. "The hosts were fantastic and always responded timely to all questions. They asked numerous times if we needed anything. A couple minor issues with a couple lights and their maintenance person came to fix within a day.We prepare most of our meals while at a VRBO. The kitchen was very limited on baking dishes, saucepans, glasses, cooking utensils. "Our upper level unit was very clean and well-stocked with everything we needed, including a few, nice extra touches. Beds were comfortable, but bedrooms were very small and hard to maneuver around; beds took up most of floor space.
