"I stayed at Aaron's cottage for two nights and it was a great experience. The cottage was cozy, equipped with all the amenities you could need. It had AC, fans, hot water, a comfortable bed, a kitchenette and full bathroom. The place is easy to find and there is a nice beach within walking distance. The place is ideal for staying in the Hilo area or for day trips to Volcanoes National Park, or drive to the top of Mauna Kea (4WD required). Several great local restaurants as well as supermarkets...

"We stayed for 4 days. Had a great time. The room had an excellent view of Hilo Bay and we spent a lot of time on the balcony. Staff were great. Room was clean. The lobby had a great vibe in the evening and the free drink coupons offered to guests was a great perk. The hotel is under some renovation but that didn’t impact our enjoyment. "

"Kelly was very friendly and responsive but not intrusive. She was very informative about any questions about the area. Everything was provided for a very comfortable stay. Nice breakfast. Treats and coffee available anytime. Incidentals provided if needed. Highly recommended if you are looking for an inexpensive but reasonable place to stay."

"We loved loved this property. It was clean, loved the fact they offered house slippers as well as outside slippers. We spent more time out on our full beautiful balcony more than in room. Beautiful landscaping. You can tell they take pride in the rental home. It’s was quiet and laid back for my husband and I. Maid service was awesome. We stayed on that side of island cuz it was my local, and just drove to tourist areas when we wanted to do stuff. Zoo was free and gorgeous, rainbow falls was free...

"Stayed here 20 years ago after Leon Russell concert at Palace Theatre. Still Charming, old style Hawaii. Took awhile for hot water to heat, cool water was invigorating. Grateful for fan in room. It’d been better if ceiling fan’s bright light was on different switch. "

"Arnott's Lodge is a quiet, cozy home away from home. The staff were so friendly. We stayed in a studio. Parking was right outside your private entrance so very easy to unload luggage. The studio had air conditioning, a large kitchen island, a 2 burner stovetop, mini fridge, toaster, microwave and utensils. It was so nice to be able to cook our own meals. The private bathroom had a large shower. The bed was our favorite part. Firm but oh so comfortable after a long day of exploring. The beach is a 3 minute walk down to the end of the road. It's a tiny beach entrance and was never crowded. This lodge is extremely close to the Hilo airport and it can be very loud when planes are landing so be aware if you are a light sleeper. We will definitely be staying here again when in Hilo."

Excellent Budget accommodations.

"Excellent Budget accommodations. Freshly renovated, VERY clean, has all the amenities you need and are mentioned in the listing. Photos are very accurate, the room is even more spacious than the pictures make it look. Loved our stay there. Everything worked properly, shower, AC, Internet. Towels are very soft. Don’t forget that you are close to the airport (advantage) but occasionally, at night, you could hear an airplane landing. You can walk to several beaches nearby. But I recommend a car to see all that Big Island has to offer. Parking is available in front of the accommodations and free. There are restaurants not too far away, a Walmart. If you like Thai food try Nim's Chiang Mai Thai cuisine, they have a Tom Kha soup to die for. Just enjoy your stay in Hilo."

A BEAUTIFUL Beach House FULL OF ALOHA in Hilo

Great for kids

"We had a nice stay. The house is nicely located on a street over from the ocean. No problems with the parking lot or noise from it. A kick back with the locals kinda feel. The house needs a few things to make it a better stay. Made suggestions for the owner. Beware to seniors that the shower is a good foot or more step down. Tricky to get back out as well. Needs a rack to hold shampoos ect. Fun little Gecko's running around made my granddaughter thrilled. Cute little kitties come over to welcome you. They greeted us each day. Over all happy with our stay."

Lovely stay in paradise…

"I had an incredible experience in my studio. The proximity to beautiful beaches, the unique cove, and the chance to see whales made My stay all the more special. The studio was recently renovated and had all the amenities I needed for a comfortable stay, including a cozy bed, a spacious bathroom, and a well-equipped kitchen. The addition of the hammock on the lanai was a perfect touch for enjoying the serene surroundings.The local attractions, like the lava from the volcanoes and the farmer's markets are definitely recommendations for future guests. It’s also helpful to know about the transportation options and the benefits of renting a car.I plan to return. I hope my positive experience and the tip of trying the purple sweet potato (farmers market) will surely inspire others to explore Hilo as well. Mahalo for a wonderful experience."
