"This is the real Hawaii! The property is located in a relatively remote area about 30 minutes south of Pahoa. Beautiful setting in the middle of a forest not too far from the beach. Isaac Hale Park is within walking distance and although the beach isn’t very safe for swimming there is a pond there that you can swim in. The accommodations are primitive and like camping but Mango Cabin was very spacious and the beds were VERY comfy. It is off-grid but there is electricity to the cabins. The cabins...

"Staying on the papaya farm was a rustic refreshing change. Sleeping to the sounds of tree frogs and birds was lovely. Our hosts were great. The only issue we had was this property is listed as handicap accessible. I hope the host removes this before someone who is really handicapped rents it. There were rocky steep steps going into the cabin (the host gave us a sheet of plywood to lay down, but it was too steep for the wheelchair). "Our family of 8 adults and 1 toddler slept comfortably at Denise and Brian's lovely place. You can immediately tell they put a lot of thought to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Denise also did a load of our laundry which we greatly appreciated! As a heads up, you're in a tropical forest so there will be mosquitos! Overall, highly recommend and would love to stay again if we're ever back. "
