"Beautiful property! The kaiseiki meal was top notch, the onsens were beautiful. I just wish the inside baths could have differing temperatures instead of having similar temperatures (would have been nice if one was even hotter). "

The dining experience is another standout feature. The traditional Japanese breakfast and options for dinner showcase fresh local ingredients. The hotel is conveniently located near the the Hakone Ropeway - Togendai Station as well as the Hakone Shrine. Guests can take the ropeway to Owakudani to experience the famous view of Mt. Fuji, hot spring boiled black eggs and souvenir shops, or go further into nearby town Gora where there are many shops and museums. It is also located near Hakone-en, where there is snow sledding and an aquarium for family fun. There is also another ropeway heading up the mountain to a shrine and panoramic view. "This hotel was my favorite out of the 4 we stayed in during our Japan trip. The beds were comfortable, bathroom had all we needed and the balcony gave us the most amazing view in the morning, definitely get a room facing the water and mountain. We could see the Pirate ship as well from our room. I loved that the booking came with buffet meals- fantastic options. I loved our stay in Hakone and this hotel. They even had a feared outdoor foot bath to rest your feet after walking. You could use there onsen or book a private one. So many extras on the property. Just an overall amazing stay during our trip."

"We were a family with young children and stayed at Villa B, which was a standalone 3-floor loft-style apartment. It worked really well for us - bedroom with 2 queen-sized beds and ensuite bathroom (including bathtub, washing machine and heater for clothes drying). The second "storey" was a small but well-equipped kitchenette, with a seating area. On the third "storey" was a loft with two sets of futons available. Villa A is closest to the road so we did hear the occasional vehicle passing by but otherwise the area is pretty quiet. The walls/floors are thin so if you do stay in Villas E, G and I, you probably would be subjected to your upstairs neighbours' noise."

"This was a beautiful stay. The facility is a little aged but it's been maintained well and the room views are phenomenal. The baths were clean and there was enough options that getting away from some of the noisier guests wasn't too difficult. In the morning I had the baths completely to myself and it was incredibly relaxing. Absolutely would stay here again. The only thing that was a downside to my stay was the massage. An older woman was doing the massages and it just wasn't good. She couldn't get deep pressure and there wasn't any attention paid to knotted areas. I had several massages while in Japan and this was probably the worst one. "

"The room is spacious. No elevator, it's can be tough to carry heavy luggage up and down. There's only public bath, no private shower. It's a quiet area, most stores and restaurants are closed after 5 pm, and before 9 am. Short distance from buses, but a bit challenging for walking with luggage, and good luck if you can find a taxi in the area. "
