"What an amazing hotel. The rooms are absolutely beautiful. The bathtub on the balcony is actual hot spring water. The place is immaculate. The gym is also very nice. And also, it's easy walking to Giza where all the food is. I would definitely stay here again. Hopefully even more nights."

"Amazing hotel with excellent food, drinks and views. Had a room with the hot tub on the terrace and I was using this a lot during my two day stay. One word of caution if you come by train and with luggage: the slopes are very steep so I suggest to use a taxi which will set you back around 1250 JPY."

"Great location in seaside Atami. Easy to get to train station and shopping as well as ferries and rope way. Dining was a great option in hotel as we traveled in from the USA and it solved that piece for us. Staff was friendly and rooms were well appointed and comfortable."

"Disappointing. We arrived late at night, and no one was at the reception. Despite trying to call, we received no answer. After waiting 20 minutes, the concierge finally appeared but didn't bother checking our travel documents. The physical key provided was difficult to use, and the lack of English or French speakers made it impossible to seek information. We felt lost and decided to check out early. It was NOT a pleasant experience, definitely NOT. 😔"

"This was our most interesting stay in Japan, so if you’re quirky, read on! Atami Kinjokan embodied everything we found fascinating about the town itself - it’s aged, grand and like walking through the hallways of a decadent yesteryear. "Hotel was very nice however if your an American or western at all I wouldn’t stay here, none of the rooms had showers and we had many traditional ryokans on our visit to Japan that did, also all night were sirens for the Tsunami right outside our window. Restaurant was pretty decent but overall compared to the price and the dirtiest city we found in Japan it’s definitely a no way ever again in our books, that’s from a very well traveled outlook. "

"Location of this ryokan was away from busy street close to Konomiya shrine. Very quiet and cozy If you like to have retro ryokan experience (don’t compare to fancy Ryotei style) this is the perfect place to stay "

"Booked an oceanview room. Check in girl that served me was unfriendly but all the other staff were good. The view of the ocean was obscured by a tree and was on the first floor so very disappointed. I asked for a higher floor to get the view but same check in girl was unhelpful. Said nothing available without even looking at her computer. Maybe she doesn’t like Westerners. Otherwise it’s a nice place and the buffets were excellent."
