"Surprisingly the room was very large! I enjoyed sleeping on the foldable foam mats on the tatami mats. Despite the old look of the lobby, the room was very clean and looked like it was renovated. Downside was that the area did not have lots of food options (and only opened for lunch and dinner times). It seemed like a ghost town! However, the hotel was close to a train station and 711. "The staff are very accomodating and very welcoming. They picked us up from and sent us to the train station for free. They offered us ( 5 people) a ride with a ¥2000 fee to lake kawaguchi. They also offered to pick us up from the Fujikawaguchiko masjid back to the guesthouse for the same rate later that night but they did not turn up . "This property was a treat to stay in, especially for the price. The traditional futons made for a quiet, relaxing evening before a busy day of touring Fujiyoshida. I was a huge fan of the wood floor bathroom and wooden bathtub as well. I would recommend spring or summer stays, as the traditional construction means it will be quite cold in the winter, but it was a lovely stay and I would recommend this to anyone visiting Mt. Fuji."
