"This is a historic building for theater buffs. It is atop the CIBC theatre, originally the Majestic, opened in 1906. The offices were converted to hotel rooms in 2006 and have not been upgraded much since then. Still everything is comfortable and very clean. Excellent housekeeping and front desk staff. The breakfast (standard Hampton Inn) varies a little everyday and was well maintained. Coffee and tea in the lobby. In-room coffeemaker and fridge much appreciated. Superb mid-Loop location...

"Hallways weren't vaccummed when we arrived, but looked like they were sometime in the following days. Room was clean, but the hot water was inconsistent and the pipes make a really loud noise during the shower. You can also hear the pipes from other rooms during the night. The elevators, the only way to the rooms, didn't always work and we got stuck waiting a few times for someone to allow us to use a service elevator. "Bus and El train lines nearby connected me to the Field museum, Union Amtrak train station, Second City theater, the Art institute and Museum of Science and Industry. And the nighttime city lights were beautiful. Fantastic location."
