Stood at this location for a Rams/Bears game. Walkable to everything, shopping, park, game, public transportation. Love this old style hotel. Hotel bar reasonable and cute.

For the price the property was great! The room we stayed in looked like it was recently done and was huge with nice beds and redone bathroom. You could tell the age of the building though. Many rooms on our floor were padlocked - perhaps just hadn't been refinished (hotel is huge so perhaps not all the rooms are needed). Ice machines on the floors didn't seem to be working but they provided ice at the bar on the main level. Great location and walking distance to everything you would want to see. Also very close to the metro.

The bathroom was beautiful and clean. We ordered room service for dinner. The lamb chops were absolutely perfect and probably the best I've ever had; my partner had never had potatoes au gratin and loved them. We had a lovely view of the park & Lake Michigan; sadly the fog that morning made it hard for pictures - the hotel can't control the weather :) They were quick and polite with all service, check out was easy.

Room was very nasty I only stayed 5mins in the room. It was old unsanitized with stains on the sheets and pillows. This was a plan vacation for my wife and I was highly disappointed.

Its an old building and has lots of character. It has great views of Lake Michigan and views of Buckingham Fountain. This is the 5th time we've stayed here an we ended up in a corner room. It seemed like the walls were paper thin. We could hear everything in the room next to us. We didn't have a counter/vanity in our bathroom. Over all, its a cheap hotel (especially for Chicago) and this is the only time we haven't been satisfied with our room.
