There is a space above the reception that is set up like a bar but was never open the two times we stayed there. 2. Rooms are luxurious but there is no glass in the windows/doors so when it is hot (most of the time in Zihuatanejo) you have all the shutters closed for A/C so no view at all. "Overall it’s the most naturally beautiful property on La Ropa. Staff are helpful. Only drawback is lack of English of many staff members. Breakfast is great. Dinner is okay not great. Entertainment should do Mexican songs not terrible renditions of American music."

"We had the best time staying in Emporio Ixtapa. The staff were very kind, helpful and attentive. The atmosphere was fun with live music in the lobby pretty much every night. I would recommend staying on the upper levels if you don't want to hear it super loud. We had an ocean view room which offered an incredible experience of getting the light as the sun rose. "The Hotel has a perfect location on the Beach, but its an Old Hotel. The room was wery damp inside. But the worst part was the elevators... They were stopping at almost every floor due to some fault, and when you live in the 15'th floor you can imagine the frustration. "
