"Loved how close it was to everything in downtown Chicago, and the Magnificent Mile. The only reasons for a 4 instead of 5 star, were petty minor - the pool was smaller than the pictures made it look (it's just a lap pool), and the "breakfast available" wasn't much to speak of. It was clean, the beds were comfortable, the bathrooms were very nice, and the hotel was close to everything we were going to - when lots of restaurants, so we were able to just walk to most things. "We had a pleasant stay at the Fairmont in December. The hotel was clean, located in a great spot, and had the basic amenities we needed. There were some aspects of the room that showed their age (a light was missing in the bathroom and we could see into the ceiling) and the elevators were painfully slow for access to high floors, but for a quick weekend trip it was a good choice.
