Great, clean, modern hotel in heart of Chicago’s shopping and entertainment area. Very friendly service! Great rooms and bathrooms. Love the morning coffee and just can’t beat the location. Only complaint was to upgrade the bedding and size of pillows.

This property and the staff is like my home away from home! Excellent location, welcoming staff and wonderful accommodations! Gabby at the front desk was a sheer delight from the moment I arrived! So welcoming and hospitable! The Sonesta River North adds all of the small things that make it an exceptional place to stay! Water in the rooms, morning coffee station in the sitting area which also has a nice fireplace all made my stay enjoyable! Nate, at the bar was also a delight as I made my way for my nightly margarita! I love this property and will always make it my first choice when I visit my family in Chicago! Thank you for this hidden gem!

Wonderful property and staff. We arrived on a Friday and were invited to the wine and nibbles event in the lobby. Met Shaunda there - a lovely person and great asset to the Sonesta staff. Fun event and received great recommendations for jazz and blues clubs from Antwone. Shaunda and Antwone made our stay really great. Like the fact you need your room key on the elevator to access the hotel floors. CBR restaurant next store has good food and drinks. Great location in Chicago!

**Disappointing Experience** I strongly regret my decision to stay at this hotel. It completely failed to justify the price I paid and did not meet the expected standards of service or room quality. The towels had an unpleasant odor, and the amenities were subpar. I faced significant issues with my room key, which left me stranded at the door for far too long while I waited for an engineer to resolve the problem. While I appreciate the $30 credit as compensation, it does nothing to make up for the 30 minutes I wasted and the three trips I had to endure to the front desk. Overall, this experience was frustrating and nowhere near what is acceptable for a 4.5-star hotel. I cannot recommend this hotel based on my stay.
