"Recently opened RIU Plaza Chicago hotel. Close to everything !! Rooms are beautiful with nice views. Includes a wonderful complimentary breakfast similar to RIU all inclusives. Staff is attentive and helpful. Will definitely return."

"I was upgraded to the corner room and even though the upgrade was free of charge, the room was dirty, there was 2 empty bottles on the floor and crumbs all over. I’m not happy with my stay at this hotel."

"The hotel was quite empty so there was a lot of room. The staff were very friendly and accomodating. The king room overlooked Lake Michigan which was nice. The hotel is old and could use some updating. The elevator doors were not the cleanest. Our room had a broken towel bar which could hurt someone. We had an accessible room that had a very old shower chair that was nasty....dirty or rusty or both. The restaurant ootions were limited to Kitty OShea's in the hotel. We got to be regulars...

"The room was really small and a bit cold but for the price I really couldn’t be upset. I didn’t come expecting a full service luxury hotel and I left very happy. The hotel itself is really well decorated and the staff was incredibly friendly. The location was also a huge plus as everything was walkable despite the low temperatures outside. Overall a very positive experience and would love to stay here again."

"Overall experience was pretty great. beds were decently comfortable, only true complaint would be the pullout in the living space was very thin. If planning to have someone sleep on that, maybe don't... unless you bring a pillow topper. The comp breakfast was a nice touch but was not the best unless you go for the omelet, Yolk (#1 rated breakfast) is in walking distance. "
