"We had such a wonderful time staying at Channel Island Shores! This was our 2nd visit and before our stay, Tina asked if we were celebrating anything so I mentioned that we were visiting Oxnard because my son wanted to go fishing for his 13th birthday. My daughter was also celebrating her 8th birthday as well. She asked me to send her a photo of them and when we arrived, they had a special birthday set up on the dining table. It was a framed photo, birthday button, and a special message written for them. It was a nice touch and it made us feel special! Thank you so much to the staff there for this special birthday decoration! We stayed in the 2 bedroom, 1.5 bath unit. The units are not super fancy, but they are spacious and have the basic necessities you would need to cook your meals. During our first stay, we were lucky enough to get a complementary upgrade in a 3 bedroom, 3 bath unit that you can only reserve if you are an owner. Having the extra bathrooms/showers was really nice when we got that, but the 2 bedroom still worked well for our family of 6. I definitely recommend staying here if you’re looking for an affordable place that is within walking distance to the beach. You can’t beat it! "

"This was a gem of a place--we weren't going "to" Oxnard, particularly, just passing through, but it was appealing to be on the water. The staff was friendly and welcoming. Our room was comfortable and in great condition, and had a balcony overlooking the harbor, which was lovely. The hotel was in walking distance of several restaurants on either side of the harbor. Highly recommend if you are going to spend time in the area or are just passing through. "
