"The property was quite nice in appearance and was safe because it is a gated facility. The staff was very nice and particularly Lucas was very helpful. I got a little lazy and took a taxi to the airport, which the property arranged for the same fee posted on 5th Avenue, but it is located about one mile from ADO Touristica and ADO Alterna bus terminals. Maid service was good, but the mattresses were a little old,but had been covered with a foam layer for better comfort. I would definitely stay...

"Such a lovely cozy property with kind owners/staff. Campus cat very friendly and we loved to pet her on the way to the room. Very secure. Close to main road for easy access to local shops/restaurants/parks. Supermarket around the corner for cheaper options. We truly enjoyed our stay!"

"Great getaway spot in the jungle! An eco oasis that is quiet and peaceful. Tulum is a short juant away by shuttle bus. Chemuyil the city nearby is also a cool small town. Owners and staff are friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was also top notch. Highly recommend if you want to be close to Tulum while also enjoying a quiet getawayGeeat internet if you need it. "

"The house was very clean we were able to enjoy the pool and host was very helpful, when we needed a taxi he would call one for us . We had breakfast there a few days and the food was delicious. Will definitely stay there again ."

"Hotel Colonial is not a luxury resort, but it is more than adequate. Nice pool. Clean room. Safe and good location in Playa del Carmen. Programable room safe. Friendly staff. Restaurants and entertainment close . Beach is only a short walk away. Not far from ADO bus station."

"Fantastic resort. Had an amazing time. The resort was super clean. The staff were friendly and helpful. Few too many people leaving towels on the loungers at the Colonial pool. Very hard to get a spot unless you were there super early. The staff should be removing them. Other than that it was amazing. Can’t wait to come back!! "

"This is a beautiful resort with plenty of everything. Well designed with pathways and trails around the property give you a feeling of a jungle experience along with the wildlife that lives in and around the reaort. Plenty of restaurants to chose from and there is nightly entertainment."

"Entire property was extremely well maintained, all staff were nice and helpful. Being able to visit other hotels within the Barcelo family is nice and offered the kids the ability to try different pools. Would highly recommend this property for any families. Only caveat, in the property description they don't mention the water park/surfing area is an extra charge, along with the bowling and some other activies. Also, if you don't get a reservation for dinner at one of the highly in demand A La Carte restaurants, there only is the buffet available. "
