"This hotel was truly the highlight of our trip! My husband and I visited for our honeymoon and the staff went out of their way to upgrade us to the nicest suite in the hotel. "Our family spent one night at this traditional Ryokan during our time in Kyoto. The service was impeccable, from the moment the shuttle bus picked us up at the train station and throughout our stay. A designated staff member greeted us, offered us tea, and then went over the amenities of the property with us. We reserved the private onsen so we could enjoy it as a family (regular communal onsen is not coed). The onsen is a natural outdoor hot spring with medicinal benefits! Dinner and breakfast were nutritious and delicious, and the mats we slept on on the tatami floor offered a comfortable night of sleep. Would definitely stay here again! "

Fantastic & strange

"So we didn’t realise it was a sex hotel & went as a family yet the service was fantastic & strange we were provided a ride to local places such as train station pick up & bamboo forest, great Japanese restaurants 10 mins walk Strangely you are locked in the room & must call reception to be let out yet the rooms are spacious with unique designs & all sexual extras are optional so you can forget you are staying in a broffle "

"We had a lovely stay here during our 3-week honeymoon in Japan. It is a glamping experience…. no tents though. Your room is in pre-fabricated units. It features big glass windows that open up wide to enjoy your outdoor surroundings, but also close up with complete privacy. Each unit has an excellent shower, with toilet and wash area. There is also climate control for each unit. There is no TV, but who needs it?! Of the 5 places we stayed, please note that this room was the largest room…. by far!! Each room has loads of space, especially incomparison to some of the tiny hotel options we had in Tokyo. Our next time in Kyoto, we will definitely consider returning!"
