"Location! Location! Location! Close to many shopping areas and Gion and a hop and skip to a subway. There also a wonderful Kimono rental shop nearby called Akuru! Above and beyond staff: I lost my JR Pass (had to get the green car one as I have pneumonia and cannot take smoke or smoking smells) and the front desk staff found it! All the staff was really friendly and helpful. Sure the room is a bit outdated but it was clean and loved all the little things they provided in the room like...

"Ace Hotel Kyoto is amazingly located in the heart of Kyoto. Staff is friendly and Eric did a phenomenal job. "

"Whilst locared on a busy road, our room (on 8th floor) was quiet and very spacious. Nice residents' lounge, where you could get free drinks and snacks. Staff lovely and very helpful. No evening restaurant unfortunately but many not far away (although best to book or you probably have to queue...or not get in). "

"Our favorite hotel in Japan! It's so close to the station, lots of busses, shopping, eating nearby. The staff was so helpful- they filled out my Yamato shipping form for me and took care of things. The only annoyance is that despite using a key card, the elevator always stops and opens at floor 2. The laundry facilities were very nice and you could check on them on the TV (to see how much time was left or if they were free). I also loved how the pajamas were two piece variety! "
