"Very friendly, helpful staff. The valet parking was easy and convenient. Our room had been recently refurbished so it was in great condition. Comfy bed, plenty of storage and surface space to put all our toiletries etc. However, the bathroom disappointed slightly. Although clean, and part of a refurbished room, it had a shower over a bath. I would have preferred a walk-in shower. Just a personal preference, but I suspect it may be more popular than a bath for lots of people. Great breakfast!...

"Lovely hotel in a great location for York racecourse and a short taxi ride into the city centre (or 30 min walk). Rooms are very well appointed although the bathroom could be upgraded with dual flush toilet etc. Bed was very comfortable and noise was at a minimum. Staff are helpful and friendly. We like that the pool was open till 11pm"

"I enjoyed the stay, particularly use of a drcent sized pool and a steam room. Cooked breakfast was excellent. Staff were warm and welcoming. The hotel itself is a little dated and could do with a sympathetic makeover of the decor. It is located about 25 - 30 minutes walk to the city centre, but there is a bus service from just opposite. "
