"It’s good to remember this is a castle for several reasons. The first being the heating system is antiquated. Second, wi-fi has dead spots and does not necessarily work in your room. "Booked last minute for an impromptu birthday treat. Hotel were very accommodating, ensuring we got served food even though we arrived after last orders had been taken. Food arrived promptly and was delicious. Breakfast was excellent with plenty of choices in both the contintal and cooked options. The only downside was having to walk past toilets, which were really smelly, to get to and from our room. Smell had gone by morning after the cleaners arrived so didnt overly spoil an otherwise...

"Stated here over Christmas when visiting Wrexham for the football, beautiful old building, breakfast was AMAZING I understand why people rave about the restaurant which we sadly didn't visit - only downside was our room was like a sauna even in December because it was a tiny room the radiators felt suffocating so we had to sleep with the window open (even my husband whose always cold complained it was to hot) but thankfully the hotel is on a quiet road "

"Absolutely stunning stay! This place is so peaceful and really allows you to ‘switch off’. The cottage was lovely, very spacious and homely. The only niggle we would have to mention would be the bed which wasn’t very comfortable at all (sorry) and good luck if you’re taller than 5’9! Other than that everything was really lovely and would definitely recommend. We would love to visit again if the bed was replaced for one that was bigger and more comfortable 😊"
