"Excellent food. Fabulous service from reception, bar and restaurant. Beautiful location with amazing views. Friendly hospitable staff. Plenty of parking. Room was comfortable and spacious. It’s an old building with the related issues (you’d creak a bit if you were that old!). The breakfast buffet was limited however the cooked breakfast food more than made up for this. The evening meals were outstanding. We were part of a group of 6 and none of us were disappointed with the choice or quality. "

"Room was gorgeous, in a lovely cottage next door to the pub. Breakfast was lovely. Slept well and the bathroom was nice. Tea tray was fab. Only issue we had was the room was freezing, in December. We had to go over to he pub to ask them to turn the heating on as there was no thermostat in the room. When we went out for dinner and drinks and got back, the room was freezing again. So again back to the pub to ask for heat, we were told there was a thermostat on the landing of the cottage this time...

"The grounds and the main part of the hotel were excellent as were the staff. The only disappointment was the fridge in our room the motor of which kept kicking in on a regular basis. "The room was clean and tidy & had everything we needed. It would have been helpful we’d been advised that there was an engagement party & live band playing that night as we were staying as we were running the Delamere Forest Marathon the next morning and hoping for an early night as we had an early start. As the rooms were directly above the music there was no chance of this! The music did stop just after 11pm so not too bad! "
