"Our Christmas stay at the Welcombe Hotel was a nice break. The mansion is stunning, set in 157 acres of beautiful grounds, and if you’re lucky, you might even spot deer roaming around. The spa was good to have—the indoor pool, Swedish sauna, and outdoor vitality pool made for a nice way to unwind, and the thermal rooms were a nice touch. "The hotel is in great location and staff were friendly although they were clearly short staffed with no one on the bar at times and only one person on reception at busy times. We had an issue with feather duvets and asked to be changed but were told that no one in housekeeping they had gone home. Someone did change it though whilst we were out.
