"Welcomed with a warm greeting from the lovely lady who checked us in. Hotel was very clean. The room was ideal for 1 night. Only downside for me was a smell that was coming up through the sink plug hole smelt a bit like the drains which was not great when trying to sleep"

"Nov 2024 - This is a very old pub, persevered very well and in keeping with it's original historic 656 year old design. Great food and drink selection and wonderful staff. With that in mind, it is a pub, and therefore very noisy until around 12am later at weekends. As it's old it's also very creaky, so expect to here residents walking to and from the bathroom / toilets. The rooms are what you'd expect in keeping with an old building and a little cold in winter. "The room was excellent. The only let down was that breakfast was advertised as available from 8am (not just to guests but also on a banner outside the hotel) but by 8:30 the dining room was still locked and in darkness, and no staff were around to ask. I don't know if it opened after that as I had to go. If you're wanting breakfast I'd check first."
