A lovely friendly hotel, the staff were very good and helpful. There was a dining room issue on a Saturday evening where the number of guests overwhelmed the kitchen resulting in food item shortages and a lengthy wait for the food but it arrived at all times very hot and the breakfast was especially good. We would certainly return and thoroughly recommend this hotel

Only food available at 9.30 pm, after extremely stressful and delayed train journey, was a tuna sandwich on white bread. Breakfast soon after 8.00 next morning was more-or-less OK but pastries were not fresh, cereal selection very limited, fruit compote ran low, no marmalade. But room was clean and bed adequately comfortable, so it basically served its purpose as a fairly budget establishment. Staff were obliging and helpful as far as possible, and bright and cheerful which alleviated matters quite a bit!

Slightly away from the airport - an extra 5-10 minutes from their other site. You have to walk up to the flyover to get to the site. Cleanish rooms (the bathroom floor was stained and had small debris). The room I stayed in had air con. A sofa was in their too which you don’t often find nowadays. I would stay there again now knowing how to get there.

Walking to the hotel from the airport / train station - the walk through what’s a very industrial area seems a bit off putting at first - but it’s doable in about 10minutes and it’s simple enough. The hotel itself is pleasant enough. The rooms are pretty small and basic - but they are clean and mostly have all you need. Bed was comfortable. Restaurant served up food and breakfast at a fairly reasonable rate given the surrounding area. Very handy if you’re using the hotel whilst at the NEC or travelling via the airport - but probably not somewhere I’d stay for any other reason.

Make sure you book the correct Ibis hotel near the airport. There is one w/in walkable distance from the airport, but this is not it. You could technically get there walking but need to take the train from the airport and walk another 5 minutes. Overall the stay was good and the food was pretty decent (restaurants are a good 15 - 20 minute walk away).

Needs an airport shuttle and some staff need training in how to assist clients. We asked about an airport shuttle or taxis and were told that she could not help us and we should walk to the train station with our four heavy cases, unimpressed. Other staff were very helpful.
