"It was not as nice in reality as in the pictures. It was OK though. Basically clean. The light in the bathroom did not work. The staff were pleasant and helpful. I slept very well there. The area was inconvenient, far away from the centre of town, so that you are dependent on taxis to get around. The taxi drivers are good though and charged a fair price. I never felt ripped off by them. While the area did not feel overtly unsafe, it was pretty grungey, not the best part of town. Were I to visit Bacalar again, I'd probably look for somewhere else to stay because of this hotel's isolated location. "

"The location is amazing..quiet in the middle of the nature. The private access to the lagoon is so convenient and the lagoon colors/views are breathtaking. The staff and the service is outstanding. Definitely going back soon"
