"this is our 4th stay at Rothay and it remains one of our favourites in the lakes. in winter it’s great to cosy up after a long walk in the garden spa, and the rooms and ambience is really comfortable without any pretentious swagger for which some of the other hotels in the area would charge you £100 per night more. breakfast is good quality and staff are friendly and efficient "

"Booked this stay for a nice break after Christmas and New Year before returning to work! Hotel was lovely and clean, staff super friendly and helpful and our room was lovely and spacious. Spa facilities if staying in the main hotel are over the car park and facilities weren’t that big. But nice all the same. Overall a very enjoyable stay but not sure if it’s worth the near £400 for just the one night, but was a nice and needed reset moving into 2025. "

"We chose this hotel as we wanted a quiet night away not too far from home and away from the busy tourist areas and it didn’t disappoint. It’s hard to judge a place on a quiet weeknight in November but we had a lovely stay. The room was lovely and clean with everything we needed. Dinner was great even if very quiet but to be expected this time of the year. Breakfast was freshly cooked and a large range of things in the buffet. "Really nice hotel, spa was nice. The suites could use some upgrades (the windows) there was water between the glass panels so the view couldn’t be enjoyed as much as it should have been. Especially when the heat was on full as it was -3 and it was just cloudy window panes. "
