"Fabulous refurbished hotel, very modern but in a traditional way given its location. We had a garden suite (Millican Dalton) which was an absolute delight, very spacious and quiet, views over fields & hills. The only fault, although minor was there is no fridge in the room and there is a patio area with table & chairs with view to the hills but it hadn’t been cleaned for sometime, lots of moss & quite slippy. "First visit, easy to find with drive on A591. Good parking. Magical setting with access to lakeside walk from gardens. Silence and darkness over Thirlemere at night, stars beautiful. Feels like staying over at home of friends in traditional not overdeveloped property. Breakfast piping hot. Will be visiting again."

"We thought the hosts were really lovely and the location of the guesthouse was ideal for us for walking. There are two pubs within walking distance which serve fantastic food: Coledale inn and Royal Oak. However, we had a downstairs room and seemed to have been really unlucky with the guests upstairs who woke us up every hour during the night. Thankfully, we were only staying a couple of nights as we were absolutely exhausted by the end. Would recommend a stay, just maybe ask for an upstairs...
