"We thought the hosts were really lovely and the location of the guesthouse was ideal for us for walking. There are two pubs within walking distance which serve fantastic food: Coledale inn and Royal Oak. However, we had a downstairs room and seemed to have been really unlucky with the guests upstairs who woke us up every hour during the night. Thankfully, we were only staying a couple of nights as we were absolutely exhausted by the end. Would recommend a stay, just maybe ask for an upstairs...

"Extremely well run and homely B&B just outside Keswick. The breakfast was a particular highlight - especially the a la carte menu. Small things (like tea & coffee in the room with fresh milk, flapjacks in reception and USB charging sockets) make a big difference. I also appreciated the excellent advice provided by the hosts on hiking routes and where to eat in Keswick. I only stayed for one night but will stay longer next time. "

Lorraine is such a wonderful host, always helping with any information we need and goes out of her way to help me with storing my luggage before checkin and after checkout.The location is fantastic, just next to the Town centre and bus stops. The street is well-lit and safe to roam even when dark. The room is super cosy and the bedding is clean and so comfortable that my kids would love sleep-in instead of going out and about. "Maple Bank is a gem of a place. Super location literally 100 yards from a bus stop, which has an hourly bus right through to midnight, with a £2 fare cap! We chose to walk in to Keswick one morning which took about 50 minutes. Check-in was great and informative, outlining options for breakfast for vegetarian & vegan choices.
