The Princess Nikko is both charming, traditional (provide an actual door key!), The service standard and attention to customer needs is amazing and room size is absolutely huge (the washroom was almost as big as some hotel rooms we stayed at in Tokyo). "Our room at Aoi Hotel was very spacious, with a balcony the size of some budget hotel rooms and overlooking the Kamo River. The room gets daily cleaning and restocking, but the reception/concierge is not really present (they can be summoned with a phone call from the front desk). Overall, a unique, high-quality hotel in an excellent location."

"We had a superb 3 night stay in Bijuu. The property consists of three rooms, two standard (quite large an well furnished) and one exceptionally large suite. We stayed in the standard room, and loved it. The service was also great, and there's a lovely cafe on the ground floor of the building. Plus the location can't be beat. I'd stay here again without hesitation."
