"Car park is relatively small, with 2 large 4x4s on there, it was a bit of a nightmare to park at first. There is an overflow car park though (perhaps exceedingly large vehicles should be disallowed or only allowed on the overflow?) Staff are excellent, especially Anna and the gentleman (whose name i didn't get) who served us for breakfast the first half of the week, both are superb at what they do. Good quality and quantity spread breakfast, made to order, and caters for dairy and gluten...

"Exceptional hospitality. Staff were particularly friendly and attentive. Location suited us - not too far from Durham city centre, but particularly convenient for our visits to Beamish and Tanfield Railway. Room was clean and well-appointed. Food was amazing! Superb breakfast with good choice. Dinner menu was unbelievable (not available on Sunday evening. Highly recommended."

"Not impressed. It is very misleading that they charge an extra fee per day to use the health club facilities, but the hotel picture is of the pool! They want you to book direct by all means. I did not notice the surcharge coming up in the description as you have to scroll all the way down to see it. Room was OK, both shower and sink starting to clog.
