"Check in was easy, bedrooms a good size and very comfortable beds. Heated towel rail & extractor not working. Tea & coffee facilities and a room safe. Cleaning staff could be a little more attentive during the stay. Food is very good quality and very well cooked, delightful dining room staff, thanks to Rory, Alex & Beth. Will return in the future to this ancient castle complete with peacocks!"

"The property was ideal for our break, very clean and well kept. Staff that we interacted with were friendly and helpful and polite. The only thing we were disappointed with was that the sauna wasn't in operation but everything else was great and as described. We travelled to Chester by train and found the public transport and taxis very reasonably priced with the local buses stopping almost outside of the hotel drive. We would have no hesitation in staying here again, a very good experience...

"Although a little tired and in need of a freshen up, and although there was a slight drain smell from our shower (not enough to complain about) the room was spacious, clean and well furnished. It had a beautiful view over the golf course. The main downside was the mattress which was a little hard and probably a bit worn out. Otherwise it was lovely and the staff were great overall. The gym and pool were also lovely, and complimentary to hotel guests. "

"Beautiful property great staff. Loved the breakfast in the restaurant too. Super convenient for us visiting family, perfectly located for everything we needed. Car parking was a bit of a pain in the Pepper Street car park and very difficult to get out (more instructions from hotel staff may have helped) - we would probably find alternative parking another time. However, absolutely wonderful stay in the hotel and will definitely be returning."

"Had a fantastic stay at the wild pheasant. Staff are lovely. Room was for 3 but only set up for 2, the staff couldnt be any quicker having the room amended for the 3 of us. Afternoon tea was gorgeous , spa immaculate and not overcrowded. Enjoyed a shoulder and back massage to finish the trip. It was perfect. Also very close to the centre nice 15 minute walk along the river"
