"I love the character of old hotels and this one did not disappoint. Pros: we had hot water for showers, plenty of towels, a comfortable bed, two onsite restaurants to choose from, and two complimentary bottles of water in our room. "We stay at the Aloft River North quite frequently and each time find the rooms very clean and comfortable and the staff exceedingly pleasant. This visit I found the elevator floors dirty. Understanding it’s winter and guests are likely to track salt and other debris, the elevators should be swept out more frequently. "A few reviews had mentioned the noise on the street and I disregarded them as I know what it’s like to stay in a city hotel. Well those fire and police alarms were louder than I expected. We had trouble with a toilet but the service to fix it was quick. They ended up switching our room. It was exactly what you’d expect to happen in that situation. Rooms are nice, pillows are thin. Convenient location but that means also busy. "
