The hotel is BEAUTIFUL! The staff was great! We had one plan a day for our 4 day stay and we walked to all of our dates! The Walnut Room Day -Lunch and shopping, The Art Museum Day - Explore and Learn. The Candlelight Concert and Grand Dinner Day. The Millenium Park Day - Brunch and Park Day! We walked to all of these and everything was so close. The lobby is a great place to hangout and meet new friends, grab a bite to eat and drink. The vibe in the hotel is just so good that I will never forget this wonderful trip.

Palmer House cancelled my reservation I gifted my Wife because she did not have possession of the card used to book the trip leaving her stranded in Chicago with no hotel. I'm having difficulty getting a refund as i did not want to cancel.

The elevator situation needs some help. It's extremely slow. The check in line was also over an hour and a half.

The Palmer House was 2 blocks from the Art Institute which was perfect for us. The hotel restaurant had an excellent breakfast in the morning which we enjoyed. Easy access in and out of the parking garage let us roam Chicago for some excellent Polish and Greek restaurants that we enjoyed. We will be staying there again on our next trip.

Charming architecture and wonderful history in this lovely historic hotel. Great location near the Art institute, Chicago cultural center and famous marshal fields building (home of Macy’s now). The decor at Christmas is magical! Downsides are very slow elevators and crowded restaurant at breakfast. Stay on a lower floor.
