"I’ve been to many capsules across Japan and my stay here was at the too. Yes, I’ve stayed in Kyoto, Osaka, but wanted to spend a few days in Ōtsu and experience a slower pace and so glad I did! The reviews on Google and Orbitz rated The Calendar high so I gave it a try and I was not disappointed. However, I do need to mention if you are sensitive to smell you might notice the slight scent of smoke. The entire capsule is non-smoking, however there is a smoking room, that when smokers return it...

"This was a small apartment instead of a hotel room. Nice, quiet neighborhood, close to transportation and shopping. The only problem is the lack of front desk, I took out trash and was supposed to get another bag but they never left me a replacement, had to improvise with my own shopping bag. I'm not sure I would do another visit with no front desk available. Overall nice experience though. "

"Felt like a college dorm with all amenities provided. Massage chairs, indoor/outdoor onsen, sauna, food for breakfast and late night, soda, coffee, soup, alcoholic drinks, chargers in capsules, different types of shampoos and conditioners, hair products, hair dryer, curling iron, and all other bath amenities anyone would need. Everyone was really quiet and respectful to others. "

"Hotel itself has a great restaurant inside and all the smaller ammenities you would need for a short or long stay. Room was comfortable for two people, but the walls are thin so just know that you will hear people from time to time. Lucky to have the place to stay at overall. "
