Hotel Emion Kyoto is probably the best place to stay near Umekoji Park, and one of the best in Kyoto overall. The location is right next to Umekoji Station, which makes it perfect to commute every day to/from Kyoto Station, Arashiyama, Nijo, etc… Staff is excellent and always willing to helps.

The hotel is very clean, good breakfast, hotel offers cuopon to have dinner at the restaurant at shopping center which is within the building of the hotel. The food of the restaurat is very delicious. Hot spa from the hotel is very relax. I must come back to live in this hotel next time.

Hotel was spotless. Staff was helpful and friendly. The public bath was awesome. 1 thing we liked was, on the TV, there is notification of how busy the public bath and the breakfast area was. As well it notified you if the 4 coin laundry machines were being used and how much time is left on each. Great hotel. Close to the subway.
